Xeon Bronze logoIntel recently sort of delayed their Sapphire Rapids server CPU, but what about the subsequent releases? SemiAccurate can tell you what is happening with Emerald Rapids and a little about Granite Rapids.

SemiAccurate first brought you the name Emerald Rapids, then we called it Emerald Lake because our sources kept referring to it only as ‘Emerald’, in 2016. The potential Plan C, Ruby Rapids, to Emerald Rapids’ Plan B, has yet to materialize and at this point SemiAccurate thinks it is unlikely to ever show up. That said what is the state of Intel’s server plans at the moment, that last caveat is important, things have been a tad fluid lately.
